HIP & KNEE ARTHROPLASTY CLASS

This class is taught and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist and a certified Exercise Physiologist. This class is geared towards anyone of any age who has osteoarthritis in their knees and/or hip joints including individuals who are waiting for or who have already had joint replacements. The class is delivered in a small group setting with individual goals and customized exercise programs following individual evaluation by a licensed Physical Therapist. You will learn safe and effective exercises to help you develop and maintain mobility, balance and strength.

URBAN POLE WALKING

This is Urban Poling Class for individuals looking to improve their walking experience. Adding urban poles to your regular walk turns it into a full body workout. You will burn 20 to 46% more calories, while reducing stress on hips, knees, ankles and lower back. This class is great for individuals who want to get a whole body workout as they walk.

This is for individuals who are looking to start running or trying to get back to running. It is led by a Physical Therapist along with a variety of other health professionals who will help you get towards the end goal of completing a 5 km run at the Queen City Marathon. Education sessions will cover topics such as pacing, injury prevention, nutrition and footwear.

This class is led by an Exercise Therapist. This class is for people with Osteoarthritis, Parkinson’s, MS, Cancer, Joint Replacements and many other conditions and injuries. The goal of this class is to improve your ease of movement through using techniques to increase your flexibility. This class is mostly run seated with chairs as a support system.

This class is geared towards anyone over the age of 45 who is looking to get active including individuals with decreased range of motion, muscular strength, endurance, and balance issues. Individuals with arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, etc. would all benefit from this exercise program. This class occurs in a group setting but includes individual modifications so each participant is able to take part regardless of their experience or abilities!

This class is run by an Exercise Therapist and is for anyone of any age who has shoulder issues such as pain, decreased strength or range of motion, including those individuals who are waiting for or who have already had surgery.  Three of the sixteen classes are led by a Physiotherapist educating on anatomy, posture, mechanics, and injuries.

WOMEN’S WELLNESS EXERCISE CLASS

This class is led by an Exercise Therapist. The class is for any middle aged women looking to participate in a group exercise class that focuses on full body strengthening with some aerobic conditioning as well as stretching. The class is run as a circuit so you can move through the exercises at your own pace. Exercises are tailored to your needs and ability level!
